BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. and BANGOR – Mollie (Cohen) Emple, 101, beloved wife of the late Joseph Emple of Emple Knitting Mills, passed away June 10, 2005, at her daughter, Peg’s home in Boynton Beach, Fla. She was born Nov. 26, 1903, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Bernard and Dora (Kovel) Cohen. She moved to Portland at the age of four. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed doing charity work for a variety of organizations in Bangor. She played golf, enjoyed traveling, and played both Bridge and Canasta, and loved to read. Mollie was looked up to and revered and a wonderful role model to so very many. She lived a long full happy life and had a wonderful sense of humor right up to the end and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Helen Honig of New York City, Paul Emple of San Diego, Calif., Peg Emple of Boynton Beach, Fla.; her siblings, Maurice Kane, Eva Sacknoff, Deana Cutler, all of Portland; four grandchildren, David Honig, Jeffrey Honig, Lisa Coreeli, Janet McGourty; and beloved aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held noon Wednesday, June 15, at the Jewish Chapel, 118 Center St., Bangor with Rabbi David Cantor, officiating. Interment will be at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor.
