BREWER – Muriel H. Emerson, 87, wife of Arthur E. Emerson, died Feb. 22, 2008, at a Bangor hos-pital. She was born April 4, 1920, in Bridgewater, the daughter of Ernest O. and Una (Niles) Harvey. Muriel was a 1937 graduate of Bridgewater Classical Academy and was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. She was employed for many years at Eastern Corp., Brewer, married Arthur Emerson, July 6, 1953, and they made their home in Brewer. A devoted wife, mother and beloved “nana,” Muriel is survived by her husband of Brewer; three children, Becky Armstrong and her husband, Don, of Brewer, Edith Campbell and her husband, Ron, of Hampton, N.H., and Wendy Oak and her husband, Ricky, of Port Angeles, Wash.; six grand-children, Ben Armstrong and his wife, Briana, of Bangor, Kate and Abbie Armstrong, both of Brewer, Jason, Samantha and Matthew Oak, all of Washington state; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Lester Harvey; and one sister, Ernestine Carlisle. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, with the Rev. Roger Tracy, pastor of Eddington Community Church, Eddington, presiding.
