WESTFIELD – Murle A. Masters, 49, servant of God, beloved husband, father and friend, went to be with his heavenly Father June 9, 2006. He was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Limestone, the son of Isaac and Marilyn (Bean) Masters. The most important thing in Murle’s life was his faith and sharing his faith with others. As an active member of the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, it was not unusual to find him there at any hour of the day in the sound room, praying or just teasing anyone that happened by. He was a giver, he gave of himself in so many ways and was always eager to meet whatever need you might have at the time. Murle’s compassion for people was only out shined by his quick wit and humor. Because of his child like acceptance of people, kids were drawn to him like a magnet. He had a way of making you feel comfortable and accepted when you were near him. You never knew what he was going to say next. Everyone was equal in his eyes; if you were rich or poor it did not matter. What mattered to him, was that you knew God like he did. Surviving him is the love of his life, Carla (Archer) Masters of Westfield; his daughter, Niki M. Masters of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Isaac of Westfield; two sisters, Michelle of Baltimore Md., Cecilia of Presque Isle; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Murle’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church, Center Line Road, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Rick Kavanaugh officiating. Gifts in his memory may be made to the church. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
