PALMYRA – Myra B. Wood, 94, died May 15, 2005, at a Pittsfield health care facility. She was born Feb. 28, 1911, at Thorndike, a daughter of Arthur and Grace (Prescott) Berry. She graduated from Unity High School and Farmington Normal School. Myra taught school for many years in Palmyra. She was a member of the Grange, the Extension, and the High Street Congregational Church in Newport. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 1988. Myra is survived by a son, Joseph and wife, Kay Wood of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Jason Wood of Boston, Janet and husband, Jerod Drost of Warren. Private family visitation will be held on Wednesday and a family graveside and committal service will be held on Thursday at the family lot, East Thorndike Cemetery, with Pastor Al H. Worden, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palmyra Scholarship Fund; care of Susan Boulanger, 12 Shy Road, Palmyra, ME 04965. Arrangements are by the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport.
