PRESQUE ISLE – Myrtle “Molly” E. Simonson, 82, died May 23, 2005, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born May 5, 1923, in Easton, the daughter of Scott and Inez (Sharp) Tompkins. Molly was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Stewart, who she owned and operated a potato farm with for more than 20 years. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Robert Simonson, who she farmed with for more than 10 years. Surviving her are her children; Daniel W. Stewart and his wife, Lucille, of Presque Isle, Brenda S. Smith of Brewer; grandchildren, Tyler and Mitchel Smith, Bonnie Cobb and Kenneth Stewart; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jean Durso and Pearl Michaud, both of Connecticut and Blanche DeMerchant of North Carolina; a special friend, Peggy; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Hospice Room Memorial Fund, at the Presque Isle Nursing Home, 162 Academy St., Presque Isle, ME 04769. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
