SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Nancy Dunbar Bulger, 69, died June 15, 2004, at a Bar Harbor healthcare facility. She was born May 18, 1935, in Southwest Harbor, the daughter of Linwood N. and Irene (Gilley) Dunbar. She worked as a bookkeeper for F.W. Thurston for 18 years, A.W. Pettegrow for 12 years and the James Rich Boat Yard for 10 years. Nancy was a wonderful cook. She was a selectman for the Town of Southwest Harbor for nine years, past president of MDI Lioness and Lioness of the Year, past president of the Manset Gleaners, she was treasurer of Harbor House for four years and served on the board of directors of the Southwest Harbor/Tremont Ambulance Service. She was a member of the Southwest Harbor Congregational Church. Nancy is survived by two sons, Charles J. Bulger and special companion, Lori Goodwin of Bass Harbor and David W. Bulger and partner Michael Robbins of Seabrook, N.H.; one sister, Juanita Anderson and husband, Richard, of Hamburg, N.Y.; three nieces; one nephew and a special buddy, Jason Aaron Ward. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard, in 1985. Friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Mount Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor.
