BANGOR and NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA – Nathan A. Fowler, 9, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 7, 2004, at a Bangor hospital after a life- long illness. He was born Sept. 16, 1995, in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Patricia J. Fowler and Miaoasagiget Perley. Nathan enjoyed walking outdoors, Spiderman and music, especially Native Drumming and singing. He attended school on Indian Island in Old Town and thought that half of the fun was riding the bus to school and all the friends he made. Nathan is survived and will be sadly missed by his parents; Patricia of Woodstock NB, Canada and Miaoasagiget of Tobique First Nation, Canada; brother, Gage Perley; sister, Lily Perley; grandparents, Alice (Polchies) Day, Larry and Loretta Perley; great-grandmother, Laura Barlow, aunts, uncles, godmother, many cousins and friends. The family wishes to send a sincere thank you to the Doctors, pediatric nurses, staff and friends at the Elizabeth Levinson Center, EMMC and the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor for the many years of unconditional love and care that was provided for Nathan. He was predeceased by his grandfather, James E. Gillespie; great-grandmother, Phyllis McGraine; and great-grandfather, Jack John Polchies. Friends may call 6 p.m. Tuesday, until the time of Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Ann’s Church on Indian Island in Old Town, with the Rev. Paul Kerns Celebrant. Committal will be held at the Tribal Cemetery on Indian Island immediately following the service.
