GROVELAND, Mass. – Mr. Nelson A. Roix, 74, formerly of Limestone, died Wednesday evening, June 11, 2008, at Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill, Mass. He was born Sept. 20, 1933, in Limestone, son of the late Thomas L. and Madeline P. (Bourgoine) Roix. Educated in the Limestone school system, Mr. Roix graduated from Limestone High School, Class of 1950. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy. He moved to Groveland, Mass., in 1961, and was employed as a teamster truck driver for various trucking companies. More recently, he was employed as a custodian at Donohue School, Merrimac, Mass., and as a bus driver for the Pentucket school system. Mr. Roix enjoyed gardening and farming. His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Camilla (McLaughlin) Roix of Groveland, Mass.; three sons, Kevin N. Roix of Phoenix, Kenneth L. Roix of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Shaun P. Roix of Groveland, Mass.; three daughters, Mary Lou Roix (McCaillon) of Groveland, Mass., Rhonda and her husband, Peter Doherty, of North Andover, Mass., and Diana Roix of North Andover, Mass.; four sisters, Loretta Hebert of Limestone, Elizabeth “Betty” Thibodeau of Stafford Springs, Conn., Geneva St. Pierre of Limestone and Theresa McBriety of Island Falls; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Gregory and Patrick Roix. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral 9:30 a.m. Monday at H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford, Mass., with a funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Hearts Church, South Main Street, Bradford, Mass. Burial will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Cemetery, Limestone. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Bradford Funeral Home.
