PEMBROKE – Newell W. Rose, 73, died July 6, 2007, at his home. Newell was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Eastport, son of the late Harold B. Rose and Alice Brown. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Newell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Caroline E. Rose; his daughters, Alma Wormwood of Wells and Carol Ruckle of Pittsburgh; sons, Bradford Rose and Daniel Rose, both of Pembroke; a sister, Beatrice Carter; a niece and nephew, Dale and Faye Carter, all of Farmington; several grandchildren, Amanda, CJ, Zachary, Kathrin, April, Meghann and Amber; and four great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Krystal, Dylan, Keeley and Logan. There will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Newell’s memory may be made to Down East Hospice, 24 Hospital Lane, Calais, ME 04619. A cremation by Washington County Cremation Center, Calais.
