BANGOR and MILLINOCKET – Nina A. Mott Blakely Goodwin, 91, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 21, 1916, in Millinocket, the daughter of Burns L. and Mabel (Darling) Mott. Nina graduated from Stearns High School, Class of 1934. She married Brydon Blakely, Feb. 21, 1935, and they had three children, Barbara L. Page of Brewton, Ala., Marilyn Dawn Libby and her husband, Robert, of Bangor and Robert Brydon Blakely and his wife, Sheila, of Demopolis, Ala.; three stepchildren, Shirley Goodwin Donovan of Somerville, Mass., Sarah Goodwin of Brunswick and Mary Goodwin Thompson and her husband, Ross, of York; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Taylor) Mott of Millinocket, Roxanne (Blakely) Elwell of Sherman and Elizabeth “Eliza” (Blakely) Cummings of Patten. Nina enjoyed her eight grandchildren and her five stepgrandchildren, as well as her several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nina was predeceased by her first husband, Brydon Blakely; and also by her second husband, Ronald Goodwin, whom she married Feb. 7, 1988. Nina enjoyed the company of her hospice workers who came to visit with her, especially Tilley and Roxanne. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, with funeral services beginning 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Carolyn Bradley. Interment will be held after at Millinocket Cemetery.
