AUSTIN, Texas, and ROQUE BLUFFS – Frank Lewis, 85, died Oct. 20, 2007. A command pilot, he flew fighters in combat in World War II and Korea. He received the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. “I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter-silvered winds…” He leaves his wife of 54 years, Merle Tooke Lewis; his daughter, Kathryn Col?n; and granddaughters, Laura and Emma of Fayetteville, Ga.; his son, David; daughter-in-law, Lynne; and granddaughter, Samantha of Buxton. There will be no services. He will be interred at Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association.
