GREENVILLE – Norma P. Hanson, 75, died Jan. 22, 2005, at her home in Greenville after a courageous battle with her illness. She was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Shirley, the daughter of Charles and Freda (Beckwith) Ryder. She worked for many years as a meat cutter at the A & P Grocery and at Breton’s Store. She was a member of the OES in Greenville, the People’s United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had a love for her flower gardens, and was an avid reader. She loved hunting and fishing with her husband and family, and was a volunteer member of the Katahdin crew. She is survived by her son and his wife, Scott and Rinda Hanson of Greenville; a daughter, Terry Boone of Guilford; a brother, Clarence “Bub” Ryder and his wife, Donna, of Veazie; two sisters, Mary Genest and her husband, Harry, and Vella Crossman, all of Greenville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Hanson; and a son-in-law, Jeff Boone. Family and friends may call for a time of visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at the family home on South Main Street in Greenville. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the People’s United Methodist Church in Greenville Jct., with Pastor Jan Rhenow officiating.
