PITTSFIELD – Norman W. Booker, 90, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Sebasticook Valley Healthcare. He was born May 22, 1914, in Levant, the son of Charles and Vida (Parkman) Booker. Norman was a 1933 graduate of Belgrade High School. Norman owned and operated Booker’s Machine and Welding in Oakland for many years. Following his retirement he became a lobsterman in New Harbor. He was a member of Messalonskee Lodge AF & AM in Oakland for more than 50 years. Norman was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Booker; a brother, Clarence Booker; and a sister, Retha Boterf. Surviving are a daughter, Faye Booker of Greenville; a son, Kenneth Booker of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Eleanor Goodspeed of Oakland; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland. Burial will follow at Belgrade’s Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to Messalonskee Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund care of Dana Wrigley, 453 Fairfield St., Oakland, ME 04963.
