LILLE – Normand J. Ouellette, 77, died April 23, 2004, at a Van Buren nursing home. He was born April 6, 1927, in Lille, the son of Mack and Anna (Cyr) Ouellette. Normand was self-employed as a potato grower in Lille until his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Thomas O. Cyr Post No. 147 of Madawaska. Normand is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Viola (Morin) Ouellette of Grand Isle; two daughters, Norma Dionne and her husband, Clarence, of Van Buren, Debra Guerrette and her husband, Gerard, of Spanaway, Wash.; three brothers, Leo Ouellette of Bristol, Conn., Henry Ouellette of Cheshire, Conn., and Gerard Ouellette of Lille; two sisters, Germaine Dubois of Winslow and Gertrude Corbin of Waterville; five grandchildren, Nathan Dionne, of Anchorage, Alaska, Tim Dionne and Lita Dionne, both of Van Buren, Zachariah Guerrette of Seattle, Wash., and Keith Guerrette of Winter Park, Fla. He was predeceased by six brothers, Oneil, Lewis, Roy, Homer, Clarence and Camille Ouellette; and by one sister, Lena M’Sadogues. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 12 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Gerard-Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Grand Isle with Msgr. Leopold Nicknair, celebrant. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery later this spring.
