FORT KENT and LEWISTON Odon Nadeau, 91, died March 10, 2004, of a broken heart. After his wife of 57 years, Cecile, died last August, life was simply never the same for him. Odon was born Oct. 2, 1912, in Fort Kent, the son of Damasse and Elodie (Daigle) Nadeau. As a young man he left Fort Kent to attend college at St. Anne de la Pocatiere, P.Q., Canada, from which he graduated in 1935. He returned briefly to Fort Kent before settling permanently in Lewiston, where he met his wife, Cecile Bosse. After serving his country in World War II, he worked at Pinette Funeral Homes and later for 17 years for the Maine State Liquor Commission. After retiring, he and Cecile traveled the country for many years, wintering in Arizona, and returning to spend summers on Eagle Lake. Until recently, he was an avid walker and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He was truly committed to his faith and was a regular communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church. Odon is survived by three daughters, Claudette and her husband, Scott Wright, of Phoenix, Ariz., Claire and her husband, Mark Nelson, of Starks, and Diane and her husband, Dan Pelletier, of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a grandson, Aaron Nelson; a brother, Alberie; and sisters, Janelle Madore, Lorraine Boucher and Lucille Bazinet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Edwina and Loanna; and six brothers, Guy, Lionel, Lucien, Ludger, Valmond and Zephirin. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and 12 noon until the time of service on Saturday at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Spring burial will be held May 12, 2004, in the Parish Cemetery.
