WADE – Olaus George “Duke” Clark, 49, died unexpectedly Jan. 14, 2005, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born in Ashland the son of Olaus Larson and his mother Velma Clark Holmes. Duke worked as a self-employed logger for 25 years. He was the owner of Clark’s Auto Recycling and Sales. He was fondly known as Duke, by all who knew him. He thoroughly enjoyed antique classic cars, his junkyard and shop, cooking, and the northern Maine fair, demolistion derby, the woods and his neighbors and shop friends. He is survived by one son, James Clark; and one daughter, Sherri Clark; two grandchildren, Jesse Clark, and Haley Johnston who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his significant other, Angela Boyce; his ex-wife, Gail Clark; his mother, Velma Clark Holmes; his brothers, Alan Holmes and wife, Robin, and Gary Holmes; sisters, Diane Holmes Good and husband, Larry, Rebecca Hardenburg and husband, Chris, Jerry Larson and Lora Larson; stepmother, Joyce Larson, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Olaus Larson; a brother, Olaus Larson Jr.; stepfather, Stanley Holmes. The family will honor his wishes that there are no calling hours or funeral service.
