WOODLAND – Mary J. Finnemore, 93, wife of the late Lewis Finnemore, died Jan. 15, 2005, at Houlton. She was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Caribou, the daughter of Gerald and Evie (Tuttle) Burgess. She was a lifetime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was also a member of the Ladies Missionary Fellowship. Mrs. Finnemore was a loving and devoted wife and mother and will be fondly remembered by many as a very talented self-employed seamstress. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Albert Hobbs of Houlton; her son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Gloria Finnemore of Woodland; one sister, Esther Higgins of California; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Finnemore was predeceased by her husband, Lewis in 1994; a grandson, Stephen Hobbs; two brothers, Cecil and Lester Burgess; and six sisters, Sylvia Peters, Evelyn Otte, Ruth and Blanch Burgess, Alice Bush and Hope Todd. Friends may call 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou, until time of services. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Fast, officiating. Interment will be in the Webster Cemetery, Limestone.
