MILLINOCKET – Olin Douglas “Doug” Robinson, 73, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, unexpectedly in Milli-nocket. He was born July 17, 1934, in Island Falls, the son of W. Jewel and Helen G. (Cottle) Robinson. Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended college in Massachusetts before settling down in Millinocket, where he worked as an accountant for the Great Northern Paper Co. Doug retired from the mill in 1989. In his retirement years, Doug had enjoyed owning and riding motorcycles. He is survived by two children, Stephanie Marie Robinson-Eck and Dale Joseph Robinson, both of Tampa, Fla.; a granddaughter, Candice Rose Eck of Tampa, Fla.; his best friend and companion, Nancy L. Schneider of Millinocket; a sister, Beryl Taylor of Nashua, N.H.; and a nephew, John Taylor. In addition to his parents, Doug was predeceased by a son, Karl Robinson; and a nephew, Scott Taylor. Funeral services, with military honors will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket.
