HOWLAND – Omer Clayton Reed, 87, went to be with the Lord, Nov. 7, 2006, from a Lincoln hospital. Omer was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Wytopitlock, the son of William and Evelyn (Lippisit) Reed. Omer was a faithful attendant of the Howland Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Omer enjoyed hunting and fishing and played competitively when bowling, pitching horseshoes or shooting pool. He also enjoyed many years at his camp on Flat Iron Pond. Omer is survived by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle (Clark) Reed of Howland; a son, Robert C. Reed and his wife, Helen, of Lagrange; two daughters, Sheila Tozier and her friend, John Faloon and Brenda Kinney and her husband, Moe, all of Howland; grandchildren, Stephen Worthing, Rhonda Michaud and her husband, Jeff, Robert Reed Jr. and his wife, Rita, Troy Reed and his wife, Sue, Douglas Reed and his wife, Deborah; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by three grandsons, Brent and Eric Worthing and Brian Reed; and one great-grandson, Brandon Reed. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Interment will be at Howland Cemetery.
