OLD TOWN – O’Neil M. “Boy” Bouchard, 93, beloved father and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Old Town, son of the late Francis and Natile (Ouellette) Bouchard. O’Neil was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign War, an avid golfer and was a member of the K. of C. Bowling League for many years. He was employed at the University of Maine (Bennett Hall) retiring in 1976. He also worked 34 years for St. Mary’s Parish in Old Town, retiring in 1987. He loved his family and family gatherings. O’Neil was best known for his gentle demeanor, great smile and sense of humor. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to the Maine Veterans’ Home nurses, caretakers, staff and friends for their unconditional love, care and hospitality during O’Neil’s three year visit. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Cecile Michaud and her husband, Elliott, of Millinocket, Marie Brissette of Bradley and her fiance, Dana Folsom, of Ft. Myers, Fla. He also leaves four grandchildren, Paul St. Peter, Catherine McEwen, Nicole Brissette and Michael Brissette; five step-grandchildren, David Michaud, Brian Michaud, Julie Hackett, Karen Davis and Rachel Gammon; 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and good friend and golfing buddy, Mike Salvato. In addition to his parents, O’Neil was predeceased by his wife, Ann (Dow) in 1963; one brother, Lloyd; two sisters, Thelma Cercone and Hilda Willette. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town where the Knights of Columbus will conduct a prayer service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Parish, Old Town with the Rev. Bill Labbe Celebrant. Committal will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery following service. Family and friends are invited to Holy Family Parish Hall following the burial for a luncheon and continued fellowship.
