OPAL P. BERRY WASHBURN and ASHLAND Opal P. Berry, 83, died July 4, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital after a battle following heart surgery. She was born June 30, 1921, the daughter of Delbert and Pearl (Clark) Jandreau Lyons. Opal lived most of her life in the Ashland and Portage Lake area and was currently a resident of Washburn Estates. Opal was married to Arthur Berry Jr. on Sept. 18, 1948. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Berry-Parker and her husband, Bruce, of Washburn; one brother, Milton Lyons of Portage Lake; three sisters, Effie Lyons of Presque Isle, Clara Fye of Pennsylvania, Virginia Michaud of Waterville; two grandchildren, Terri Almeida and her husband, Allen, Merle Buckingham and his wife, Deanna; four great-grandchildren, Jesse, Kaitlyn, Jaron and Isaiah; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur in 2003; by an infant son, Stephen Berry in 1950; three brothers, Donald, Alfred and Arthur Lyons; and one sister, Lona Smith. Relatives and friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the Advent Christian Church, Ashland. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Alan Chamberlin, pastor, officiating.
