PERRY – Orene Mae Cookson Clark, 50, passed away peacefully Sept. 4, 2007, in Perry, after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. Orene was born June 12, 1957, in Calais, the daughter of Ross E. Cookson and Joyce Cookson Williams. Orene graduated from Calais High School, in 1975. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden, spending time at Howard Lake and taking pictures, and spending time with her friends and family. She has touched many with her love and caring of others. Orene was predeceased by her two daughters, Tammy Lynn and Sonja Jean Clark. She is survived by her son, Allen Clark and Krista Trafton; her father, Ross and Helen Cookson; her mother, Joyce and Bob Williams; three sisters, Deborah Dow of Vassalboro, Yvonne Morrell of Robbinston and Dolores Weeks of Pembroke; two brothers, Ross Cookson Jr. of Calais and William Cookson of Wartrace, Tenn.; a very special aunt and uncle, Lenny and Maryanne Frost; a special friend, Kenneth Seavey; several nieces and nephews, that were very special to her; two stepsisters, Peggy Fader and Brenda Bartlett; and three stepbrothers, Carl and Gerry Bartlett and Rocky Williams. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Congregational Church, Dennysville. Burial will be held after at Baring Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Beth Wright Center, Ellsworth; the Ronald McDonald House, Bangor; or the Edmunds Congregational Church, Edmunds and Dennysville. A cremation service by Washington County Cremation Center.
