CAMDEN – Patricia Connelly Flanagan, 77, of Camden, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at her home. Born Aug. 1, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of David J. and Margaret V. (Crynes) Connelly. She attended Camden Schools, graduated from the Academy of the Assumption, went to Marymount College and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. She worked at Time/Life Magazine in NYC until she married A. Judson B. Flanagan in Camden on April 18, 1953. Devoted wife and mother, she raised an immediate and extended family for many years. She worked with her husband for Viking Lumber, then sold real estate for Allen Agency until she accepted a position as secretary for her dear friend, Dave Montgomery at Allen Agency where she worked until retirement. Surviving are her six children, David C. Flanagan of Appleton, Sharon A. Flanagan of Somerville, Mass., Maureen Flanagan and her husband, Mike Bridges, of Appleton, Erin M. Flanagan of Appleton, Gene Flanagan and his wife, Rebecca, of Camden, and A. Judson B. Flanagan Jr. and his wife, Marya, of Baltimore, Md.; her AFS son, Magnus Thorn of Uppsala, Sweden; eight grandchildren, Conor, Kathleen, Isabel, William, Andrew, Eavan, Jake, and Rose; three sisters, Joan C. Campbell, Mary C. Luney and Margaret “Peg” C. Callahan, all of Tarrytown, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Rose Flanagan Webre of Houston, Texas; many nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom she loved. She was predeceased by her husband, A. Judson B. Flanagan, Sr. who died April 3, 1990. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 7, at the Flanagan home, 102 Chestnut St., Camden. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, Camden, with the Rev. Arthur Pechillo officiating. Burial will be held later in Seaview Cemetery, Rockport. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine, 87 Elm St., Camden, ME 04843 or Ragged Mountain Recreation Area Foundation (RMRAF) for youth programs, P.O. Box 438, Camden ME 04843. Arrangements are with the Laite Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden.
