PRESQUE ISLE – Patricia Porter, 71, wife of Leonard Porter, died July 2, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home, according to her wishes. She was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Van Buren, the daughter of Roy and Cecile Goodall. Pat resided for more than 50 years in Presque Isle. Pat grew up in Van Buren and attended Van Buren schools. Pat married Leonard Porter, Oct. 8, 1955. They had enjoyed 53 wonderful years together. They were owners of Bud’s Janitorial Service, and served the businesses of Presque Isle and surrounding areas for many years. Pat was a longstanding member of Presque Isle Elks Club. Pat lovingly cared for many members of her family throughout the years, including parents, children and grandchildren, and was blessed to share in the lives of her great-grandchildren. Pat and her husband, Bud, were avid travelers, visiting family all throughout the country. They enjoyed the outdoors and camping in their RV. Pat is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leonard “Bud” Porter. She has five daughters, Beverly and her husband, Neal McCrum, of Bangor, Dianne and Stanley Winslow of Presque Isle, Rebecca and Al Engstrom of Buxton, Janet and James Biecher of Warrenton, Va., and Sandra Post and partner, Scott Saucier, of Presque Isle. Pat has 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Relatives and close friends are welcome to call 9-10 a.m. Friday, July 4, at State Street Baptist Church, Presque Isle, where funeral services will begin 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bob Leland officiating.
