SORRENTO and BANGOR Patricia M. (Pozzy) Carlisle, 73, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2005, at her home in Sorrento, surrounded by her loving family, from complications following a stroke. She was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Bangor, the daughter of Theo Joseph and Dorothy Estelle (Sawyer) Pozzy. Patricia attended Bangor High School and graduated from Barmore School of New York City. In 1951, she married Charles F. “Chick” Carlisle, of Bangor, in Paris, France. Pat will be remembered for her devotion to her family. Surviving are her husband Chick Carlisle of Sorrento; five children, Chris Carlisle of Hope, Ark., Jobie Carlisle of Manhattan, Kan., Colin Carlisle of Brewer, Leslie Knowlton of Camden and Susan Carlisle of Freeport; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Peter M. Pozzy of Haines City, Fla. and William S. Pozzy of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A graveside service for family only will be held Friday at the Doan’s Point Cemetery, Sorrento, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher of All Souls Congregational Church officiating.
