LINNEUS – Paul B. Gardner Jr., 48, died Nov. 22, 2003, at Houlton. He was born Jan. 17, 1955, in South Kingston, R.I., the son of Paul B. Sr. and Josephine (Purcella) Gardner. Paul loved Maine, farming, the outdoors, and his beloved dachshunds, Hannibal, Rosie, Gracie Pearl and Belle. He was affectionately known to his family and friends as Benny. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Donna (Lynch) Gardner of Linneus; one brother, Robert of Indiana; four sisters, Paula Weinrich, Melody Gardner, Marsha Briggs and Marion Walker, all of Rhode Island; one sister-in-law, Dianne Tefft of Hope Valley, R.I.; one special niece, Jasmin Roy of Hope Valley, R.I.; and one special nephew, PFC Brandon Roy, U.S. Marine Corp.; several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and one sister, Christine Gardner. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wish may donate to the Houlton Humane Society; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
