ROBINSON STEUBEN – Paul David Robinson, 68, passed away June 18, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1937, in Steuben, the son of the late Charles A. Robinson Sr. and Pauline (Richardson) Robinson. He worked in the fishing industry all of his life. He built herring weirs, dug clams, lobster fished, managed a lobster pound, and also built boats. During the winters, he worked at Hinkley’s Boat Yard and made wreaths to help support his family. Paul was the unofficial “town constable”, as he patrolled the roads of Steuben in his car. He enjoyed talking on the phone. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Robinson; his four children, Keith Robinson and wife, Sarah, Aaron Robinson and wife, Angela, and Alan Robinson, all of Steuben and Jennie Davis and husband, L.C. Davis, of Sullivan; grandchildren, Adam Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Alicia Robinson, Cary Robinson, Joseph Look, Keith Robinson, Derek Look and Taylor Davis; brothers and sisters, Addie Dyer and husband, Paul, of Gouldsboro, Eugene Robinson and wife, Sheila, of Steuben, Thomas Robinson Sr. and wife, Evelyn, of Ellsworth and Donald Robinson Sr. and wife, Louann, of Gouldsboro; stepson, Bradley Woodward of Milbridge; special nephew, Bradley Lowell Jr.; “second mother” and special aunt, Gladyce Richardson; many nieces and nephews; many special friends and special cat and patrol partner, Tangy Lee. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joy Look of Harrington; brothers and sister, Charles A. Robinson Jr., Fred “Sam” Robinson and Rebecca Lowell. The family would like to thank his nurses, Joy and Mary, and the rest of the staff at the ICU Unit at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for the exceptional care they gave to Paul during his last few days. Visiting hours will take place 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Milbridge, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, officiated by Charles Kelley. Burial will be private at the Robinson Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, ICU Unit, 50 Union St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
