BANGOR and BUCKSPORT – Paul F. Robbins, 93, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, with his wife at his side, at his residence He was born March 9, 1915, in Bucksport, son of Arthur and Blanche (Kimball) Robbins. He graduated in 1933, the last class to graduate from Eastern Maine Conference Seminary, Bucksport. Mr. Robbins was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. Paul worked in many grocery stores in Bucksport and the greater Bangor area as a meat cutter for more than 40 years. He loved to travel the many roads of Maine, and knew all the route numbers. Paul enjoyed doing family genealogy, identifying wildflowers and bird watching. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anita (Stewart) Robbins of Bangor; two daughters, Priscilla Kimball and her husband, John, of Holden and Paula Demers and her husband, Dave, of Springvale; five grandchildren, Sarah Agarwal and her husband, Asheesh, Rachel Moreau and her husband, Gary, Emily Demers and her husband, Shane Hughes, Jeanne Watts and her husband, Ryan and Katie Scanlon and her husband, Tom; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ellen Stewart of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Lottie Esther Robbins; and three brothers, Foster, James Laurence and Donald. Graveside services will be held noon Monday, Aug. 18, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Orland, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
