BREWER – Paul R. Whitcomb, 76, husband of Cecile Michaud Whitcomb, died Jan. 5, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Newburgh, the son of Howard K. and Doris B. (Tasker) Whitcomb. Paul served with the U.S. Naval Reserve and was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his wife of Brewer, he is survived by four children, Nancy Mann and Skip Hawkes of Glenburn, Richard P. Whitcomb and his wife, Cathy, of Hudson, Billy A. Whitcomb and his wife, Dianne, of Bangor, Brian K. Whitcomb and his fianc?e, Nicole McAlpine of Hudson; four grandchildren, Amanda Zievis and her husband, Craig, Jessica Whitcomb and Alfred, Christine Cotter and her husband, Brian, Michelle Gomm, Todd Nutt; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jordon, Nolan Paul, Trevor and Taylor; three stepchildren, Carol Honnell and her husband, Bill, of Hudson, Debra Curtis of Bangor, Cindy Higgins and her husband, Mike, of Milford; three stepgrandchildren, Eric Curtis, Janelle Emerson and her husband, Al, Jami Martell and her husband, Adam; one great-stepgranddaughter, Madelynn; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Gladys L. Whitcomb in 1988; a sister, Kathleen Fenalson; three brothers, Norman, Myron and Floyd Whitcomb; a grandson, Colby; and a stepgranddaughter, Melissa Hussey. He will be remembered by a dear friend, Ralph Ingall of Michigan. A graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor in the spring.
