BREWER – Paul T. Hamm, 41, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, at his residence, after a long illness. He was born Dec. 29, 1966, in Meriden, Conn., the son of Larry W. and Patricia G. (McCarthy) Hamm. He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Vicki L. (Getchell) of Brewer; three children, Matthew, Matteah and Makenna; father, Larry W. Hamm and his wife, Ruth, of Bradenton, Fla.; mother, Patricia G. (McCarthy) Nutter of Palm Bay, Fla.; sister, Laurie Knowles and husband, Craig, of Winterport; brother, Peter Hamm of Florida; stepbrother, Buddy Hamm of Bangor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David Getchell Sr. and Margaret; brother-in-law, David Getchell Jr. and his wife, Tina, of Brewer; sister-in-law, Valri Berkoff and her husband, Tony, of Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and friend, Butch Igoe. The family wishes to send a sincere thank you to Mary and Joe with Home Dialysis and the staff at Boyd Center Dialysis Unit for their unconditional care during Paul’s treatments. He was predeceased by a sister, Karen Hamm and a stepfather, Richard Nutter. A service of remembrance will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Dr. Randall C. Chretien, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service at 60 Washington St., Brewer.
