MILBRIDGE – Paul W. Kennedy, 71, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born July 25, 1935, in Harrington, the son of the late Carroll and Pauline (Hall) Kennedy. He spent his life working hard and doing for others. Throughout his life he enjoyed working as a sandworm digger, clam digger, woodsman, farmer and stern man for his son. He was never seen far from his home, where he always found something to be done or someone to visit with. He enjoyed watching his wife and family compete with horses as much as he loved working with them himself. Whenever someone came up with a problem he was always the one they would turn to for an answer. Often he could be found sitting at his kitchen table or in his garage watching over the neighborhood. Everyone felt safe because they knew that nothing could get by without him noticing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He shared 52 years of marriage with Shirley (Strout) Kennedy of Milbridge. In addition to his wife, family members include four children, Neil W. Kennedy, Terrie E. West and her husband, Dennis, Anne M. Kennedy and her partner, Alton Jellison, Paul H. Kennedy and his wife, Grace, all of Milbridge; eight grandchildren, Megan Arey and her husband, Heron, Morgan West and her fianc?, Erwin Dorr, Cole and Chase Kennedy, Kyle, Nicholas and Kelli Kennedy, and Cory Faulkingham; two great-grandchildren, Macken-zie and Marissa Arey; two brothers, Roger Kennedy and his wife, Priscilla, Carroll “Jupie” Kennedy and his wife, Viola; a half sister, Paula Pottle and her husband, Billy; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Graveside services will be held noon Friday, at the Strout Kennedy Family Cemetery, behind the Kennedy Home, 363 Back Bay Road, Milbridge. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. After the graveside service a time of celebration and remembrance of Paul’s life will be held at his home. Arrangements are by Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home of Milbridge.
