BUCKSPORT and MEDWAY – Paula Lynn “Poddy” (Cox) LaBrecque, 59, died unexpectedly May 14, 2006, at her Bucksport home. Beloved daughter of June I. (Powers) Cox, Donald Epke and the late Arnold W. Cox Sr., she was born Oct. 7, 1946, in Millinocket. Paula graduated from The Faith School of Theology, Brooklin. She loved to travel and her special trip was to Alaska. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and sitting by the campfire. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, June Cox and Donald Epke of Ohio; five brothers, Arnold “Toby” Cox and his wife, Sheryl, of Stockton Springs, Anthony “Tony” Cox and his wife, Lynn, of Woodville, Gregg Cox and his wife, Lorna, of Florida, Larry Epke and his wife, Diane, of Illinois, Dennis Epke and his wife, Jamie, of Michigan; two sisters, Denise Schifferly and her husband, Russell, of Ohio, Deanna Jo Epke of Ohio; two special stepgrandchildren, Chaley and Keenan Joy; several nieces and nephews, who she was like a mother to them all. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph “Ed” LaBrecque. Visitation for family and friends will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at St. Matthews Catholic Church, Hampden, with the Rev. Robert Vaillancourt officiating. A gathering of conversation and refreshment will immediately follow the service at the parish hall.
