GUILFORD – Paulette L. (Sweetland) Thompson, 60, beloved wife of Willard, entered into Heaven, Sept. 10, 2007, at a Bangor hospital, after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born April 29, 1947, in Augusta, the daughter of Philip E. and Lillian (Tenney) Sweetland. She loved her family and had a strong faith in God. Paulette had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed canning, crocheting and camping. She made the best apple pie. She was predeceased by her parents; and her very special angel, Mary Ann Tilton. Paulette is survived by her husband of 11 years, Willard; daughter, Amber Lynn Thompson of Guilford; sons, Phillip Bennett of Waldoboro, Eric Thompson and wife, Angela, of Augusta, Robert Scott and wife, Sierra, of Detroit, Maine, Raymond Porter and wife, Eryn, of Searsmont; several grandchildren; sisters, Maybelle Sturgeon and husband, Al, of Brunswick, Autumn-Marie Wheelden and husband, Herb, of Deer Isle; brother, Byron Sweetland and wife, Pat, of Burlington; special nieces, Jean-Marie Bizon and Lori Pomelow and extended family and friends. At Paulette’s request there will be no services. In memory of Paulette, donations may be made to EMMC Health Care Charities, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931, for breast cancer awareness. Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine.
