PRESQUE ISLE – Pauline H. Burnett, 86, wife of the late Clarence B. Burnett, died Dec. 23, 2004, at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Presque Isle the daughter of Vivian and Viola (Coffee) Higgins. Pauline was a member of the Grant Memorial Methodist Church in Presque Isle. She had been employed as an operator for the local phone company for several years, but then focused most of her attention to caring for her family. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Reginald Higgins. Surviving her are her daughters, Mrs. James Patricia (Burnett) Nevers of Presque Isle and Paula Burnett of Brewer; a grandson, Jeffrey Nevers and his wife, Michelle, of Portland; a brother, Dana Higgins of Lewiston; a half-brother, Keith Higgins; and a half-sister, Connie Parker, both of Presque Isle; a special cousin, Alton Perry of Presque Isle, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Mr. Jeremiah Donovan officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. A spring interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
