STOCKTON SPRINGS – Robert James Johnson, 58, of Stockton Springs passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at a local healthcare facility. He was born May 5, 1946, in Danbury, Conn. and graduated from Danbury High School. He lived in Connecticut until moving to Maine in 1981. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. Robert was a well driller for 43 years before retiring and becoming a truck driver. He loved trucks and equipment and tinkering with machines. He enjoyed fishing, reading and collecting trains and trucks. Robert was well known and liked and served on the Stockton Springs Fire Department. He is predeceased by his father, Russell H. Johnson. Robert is survived by his wife of 23 years, Trudy (Russell) Johnson of Stockton Springs; his mother, Sadie M. (Waters) Johnson of Connecticut; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Anne Russell of Stockton Springs; his children, William R. Johnson of Stockton Springs, Shanna Geary of Unity, and Dennis Troy Pierce and wife, Jana, of Howland; brothers and sisters, Barbara Jean Leger and husband, Paul, of Cantonment, Fla., Russell Johnson of Brookfield, Conn., Margaret Pierce of Danbury, Conn., Linda Bonn of New Milford, Conn., Mark Johnson of Brookfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Andrew Pierce, Brittany Pierce, Brandi Pierce, Sierra Pierce, and Elise M. Brown (Elise Marble Green); his nieces and nephews, John Paul, Christian, and Jason Leger and countless others. Friends are invited to attend the visitation 6-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stockton Springs Community Church, Stockton Springs with the Reverend Arthur Cotton officiating.
