PAULINE L. (WARD) TJADEN LANCASTER, Mass., and EDMUNDS – Pauline “Pop” Tjaden, 78, passed away March 17, 2008, with her family by her side at her home in Lancaster, Mass., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 21, 1929, the sixth child of nine children born to Evelyn E. and Guy L. Ward of Edmunds. Pauline attended Dennysville schools, graduating from Dennysville High School in 1947. She met Stephen Tjaden while he was stationed locally as a Navy Seabee and they married in January 1950. A few years later, the family moved to Massachusetts, where Steve worked as an ambulance driver. After Steve’s death, Pauline worked many years for Digital Corp. of Massachusetts, from which she eventually retired. She then worked part-time at Shaw’s supermarket until the onset of her illness. Pauline enjoyed reading, shopping, listening to country music, collecting knick-knacks and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For many years, she enjoyed driving to Maine to visit with family and friends during annual summer vacations at the cottages in Dennysville. All of us who live here now and those who have passed on, looked forward to seeing Pauline and her family each year. Numerous summer gatherings and reunions have been celebrated throughout several decades and we always had a lot of fun. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Pauline was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon; sisters, Lorraine, Julia and Madeline; brother, Blair “Sam” Ward; and her best friend, Marion Brown. Pop is survived by three daughters, Jean and her husband, Joulian Deiri, and Jean’s daughter, Cara Fasulo, all of Kittery, Sandra and her husband, Rene Pagoaga, and children, Christopher, Jacob and Maya, all of Clinton, Mass., and Julia “Judy” and her husband, Lenny LeBlanc, and children, Jaden and Samantha, all of Winchendon, Mass.; Sharon’s children, Patricia, Stephen and Jaime of Massachusetts; seven great-grandchildren of Massachusetts; a brother, Merton Ward of Edmunds; and a previous son-in-law, Michael Fasulo of Lancaster, Mass. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation services of Massachusetts. A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:45-11:45 a.m. March 29 with a service after at McNally and Watson Funeral Home, Clinton, Mass.
