LUBEC – Pauline M. Blake, 87, died Oct. 12, 2004, at a Machias hospital. She was born June 23, 1917, in Trescott, the daughter of Bion and Hope (Hallowell) McFadden. She was happy to call Lubec her home, and she enjoyed being friends with people in her community. She was a member of the West Lubec Methodist Church. She enjoyed being at home, loved flowers and vegetable gardens and the special times spent with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Winthrop W. Blake of Lubec; a son, Edwin Forrest Blake and his wife, Nancy, of Virginia Beach; a niece, Louise Corey; nephews, Halbert Bion McFadden and James McFadden Sr., all of Lubec, and John McFadden; several great-nieces and great-nephews. Graveside memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Lubec, with the Rev. Betty Palmer officiating. Arrangements are in the care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
