FORT FAIRFIELD – Pauline M. Chapman Cyr, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, June 12, 2008, at a Mars Hill nursing facility, after an extended illness. She was born Feb. 23, 1924, in Aroostook Junction, New Brunswick, the daughter of Harold and Mary B. (McNally) Cox. Pauline attended local schools and was employed at the former Community General Hospital, Fort Fairfield, for many years. She was a member of VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield and Sunshine Club, Fort Fairfield. Pauline enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and spending time with her friends and family. She also possessed and enjoyed a great sense of humor. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her first husband, Floyd W. Chapman; her second husband, Ralph W. Craig; one son, Gene A. Chapman; two brothers, Ervil Lloyd Cox and Franklin “Bud” Cox; and one sister, Lorena “Rene” Hricak. She is survived by two sons, Wilson Chapman of Glenrock, Wyo., and Donald W. Chapman of Othello, Wash.; two daughters, Kathy A. Reed and her husband, Ralph, of Old Orchard Beach and Brenda S. Chapman of Fort Fairfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Marion L. and Arthur W. Chapman; one special brother-in-law, Thomas Hricak, all of Fort Fairfield; one daughter-in-law, Paula Chapman of Othello, Wash.; 12 grandchildren, including one special granddaughter, Amy Beane of Bangor; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, June 16, at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the interment service at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
