BLUE HILL – Pauline Whiting, 86, died Nov. 29, 2004, at a Brewer nursing facility. She was born June 26, 1918, in Orono, the daughter of Charles M. and Doris (Condon) Whiting. Pauline was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in England, France, and Germany. She graduated from Boston School of Practical Arts in 1948 then studied architectural drawing at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She used these skills during her many years of employment at the University of Maine, Orono. She was a longtime resident of Brewer, moving to Blue Hill in 1988. Pauline is survived by two sisters, Ruth Small and her husband, Floyd, of Brewer, and Mary Whiting of Winston, Ore.; sister-in-law, Sandra Whiting of Frankfort; brother-in-law, Keith Osborn of Roseburg, Ore.; special friend, Ethel Andrews of Brewer; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Hope Whiting in 1991, Ralph Whiting in 1995, Frances Osborn in 1997, and Charles Whiting in 2002. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Lakeview Cemetery, Brooksville. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
