FORT KENT – Verna (Bouchard) Paradis, 85, beloved wife of the late Romeo J. Paradis, died Nov. 30, 2004 at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Portage, the daughter of Joseph H. and Laura (Gauvin) Bouchard. Verna had lived in Fort Kent since 1953 and worked at Princess Kent in Fort Kent, and 26 years for the Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent as a CNA until she retired. She is survived by a son, Ronald J. Paradis and his wife, Dolores, of Farmington, Conn.; a daughter, Joan R. Graham of Fort Kent; grandson, John R. Graham and his wife, Susanna, of Lunenburg, Mass.; great-grandson, Michael J. Graham; great-granddaughter, Laura N. Graham, both of Lunenburg, Mass.; one sister, Gladys Roy of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Susie Bouchard of Westfield; Estelle Bouchard of Fort Fairfield, Jeanne Albert of Hartford, Conn., Kay Bouchard of Millinocket, Anita Myshrall of East Hartford, Conn., Rose Vaillancourt of Madawaska; brothers-in-law, Adrian Paradis and his wife, Shirley, of East Hartford, Conn., Herman Paradis and his wife, Viola, of Washburn, Lionel Paradis and his wife, Shirlene, of Presque Isle; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Romeo on April 7, 2002; six brothers, Homer, Willard, Clifford, Wallace, Libby, and Leo Bouchard; two sisters, Sadie Paradis and Theresa Jodray. Friends may call 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent, until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 3, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. Claude Gendreau officiating. Spring burial will be held in May 2005 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Eagle Lake.
