BREWER and STACYVILLE Pearl Kenneth Hunt went to be with the Lord he loved April 28, 2007, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. Pearl was born May 11, 1919, in Stacyville. He was the son of William Carlton “Carl” and Fern (Davenport) Hunt. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Sherman Station, for 59 years. He worked as a dairy farmer on his Siberia Road farm in Stacyville, at the foot of beautiful Mount Katahdin, where he and his wife, Cynthia, raised seven children and lived for many years. During his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching the many wild birds that frequented their farm, and working on small carpentry projects. All his life, he devoted his love and energy toward his family who loved him deeply, but most important to him was his faith, service and devotion to his Savior, Jesus Christ, who loved him most of all. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Glidden) Hunt of Brewer; his seven children, Joanne Philbrick and her husband, the Rev. Robert Philbrick, of Clinton, Larry Hunt of Bethany, Okla., the Rev. Timothy Hunt and his wife, Patricia, of Cornville, Lauretta Kulp and her husband, David, of Hummelstown, Pa., Ruth Rancourt and her husband, John, of Winterport, Rhoda Heath and her husband, Stephen, of Stacyville, and Daniel Hunt of Rosamond, Calif; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hunt of Bethany, Okla.; a sister, Faye Rodgerson Cram of South Portland; a brother, Orrie Hunt and his wife, Mary, of Stacyville; 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Laurence Hunt; and a sister, Marie Allen. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, Sherman Station, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert Philbrick officiating. Interment will be at Stacyville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund, care of Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, ME 04730.
