HUDSON – Peggy Ann Whitney, 50, the wife of Kevin D. Whitney, went into the hands of our Lord July 14, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Wilfred and Lenora Pelletier. Peggy graduated from Fort Kent High School, Class of 1975. Then she went on to Husson College, where she graduated with an associate degree in business in 1977. She was well-known at Governor’s Restaurant, Old Town, as a hard worker and she was never seen standing still. She also delivered mail in Hudson, Old Town, Bradley and Bradford. Peggy, most of all, enjoyed being a memere to her “little bugaboo,” Parker Whitney Pettengill. She was a wonderful mother, memere, wife, sister and friend. Peggy was very devoted to her friends, family and to her jobs. Peggy is survived by two children; daughter, Shane Frost and her husband, Lawrence Frost II, of Bangor; son, Shawn Puiia of Bangor; and special grandchild, Parker Whitney Pettingill, who enjoyed doing puzzles, playing games, swimming, going to the park and going for slush puppies or ice cream with memere. She is also survived by her dedicated husband, Kevin Whitney, who stood by her side through thick and thin; sister, Sandra Simon and her husband, Steven Simon, of Hermon; sister, Patsy Harvey and her husband, June Harvey, of St. Francis; and brother, Ray Pelletier and his friend, Corinne, of Connecticut. Peggy was predeceased by her brother, Ken Pelletier. Friends may call noon until the time of service Wednesday, July 18, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where a funeral service will begin 2 p.m. with the Rev. Garnett Chute, officiant. Interment will be after at Hudson Cemetery. Celebrate Peggy’s life by always remembering how strong, brave and courageous Peggy was.
