LILLE – Percy Gendreau, 67, passed away Oct. 20, 2005, at a Caribou hospital. He was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Lille, the son of Edouard “Eddie” and Alice (Clavette) Gendreau. Percy worked most of his adult life on road construction for Harold Hornbrook Inc., Cianbro Inc., and Ed Pelletier & Sons construction companies. During the winters, he worked on snow removal at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone. Percy was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice (Caron) Gendreau of Lille; two sons, Percy Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Lima, Ohio, Gary of Van Buren; two very special granddaughters, “Madison a Percy” and “Skylah a Gary”; Tonya’s two children, Cassie and Justine Rapp; five sisters, Rhea Gendreau of Limestone, Gladys Laplante of Bangor, Germaine St. Amand and Alphena Latham, both of Van Buren, Mary Ann Chasse of Hamlin. He was predeceased by three brothers, Conrad, Walter and Hector Gendreau; and by three sisters, Orena Gagnon and Lucienne and Ernestine Gendreau. Friends and relatives may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Daigle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Interment will be in the Caribou Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of choice.
