HOULTON – Peter Nelson White III, 65, died Sept. 6, 2004, at Houlton. He was born March 10, 1939, in Clin-ton, Mass., the son of Peter Nelson and Henrietta (Staples) White II. Peter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was an avid ham radio operator KAIVU, and a member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed photography and restoring old homes. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cheryl Gordon of Houlton; one son, Peter Nelson White IV of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Dawn Marie White of Racine, Wis.; five grandchildren, Catherine, Juli-anna, Peter Nelson White V, Mary, and Keith; one sister, Edith Meleen of Clinton, Mass. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating.
