HOULTON – Philip Dwayne Wyman went home unexpectedly to be with his Lord Jesus Christ Dec. 29, 2005. He was born May 9, 1939, in Caribou, the son of Roy and Jennie Wyman. He attended Caribou schools and went to Ricker College in Houlton, where he completed a degree in business. He proudly completed one tour of duty with the U.S. Army, primarily in Germany. Philip Wyman was married upon his return to Bessie (Cyr) on Feb. 10, 1962. They resided in Connecticut, where he was employed by Pratt and Whitney. After the birth of their two youngest sons, he returned to Houlton, taking employment once again for the U.S. government as a postal worker. He retired after 29 years of service. After retirement, he spent his time focusing on service to others. He went to the local nursing homes reading to those who were unable and running errands for neighbors in need of assistance. Mr. Wyman was a past member of the Lions Club, the Oddfellows and the Houlton Fish and Game Club. Philip Wyman leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Bessie (Cyr). He also leaves his two sons, Steven Prescott and his wife, Roberta, of Greenfield, Mass. and Matthew James and his wife, Carmin, of Leominster, Mass.; his six grandchildren, Philip and Douglas of Houlton, Kasey and Nicholas of Brookfield, N.H., Bob of Greenfield, Mass. and Christopher of Oakland; five sisters, Madeline Miller of Caribou, Delores MacGorman of Houston, Texas, Mary Ouellette of Caribou, Shirley Harwell of Thomasville, Pa., Linda Conant of York, Pa.; and six brothers, Ken of Caribou, Rex of Caribou, Lee of Salem, Ore., John of Stockholm, Vaughn of Fort Myers, Fla. and Gary. Mr. Wyman also leaves very special friends, Jim and Jackie Baldwin of Linneus; father-in-law, Lynwood Cyr of Houlton; and daughter-in-law, Paula (Sprague) Wyman of Houlton. Mr. Wyman was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Jennie of Caribou; his brother, Lewis of Oakland; his son, Philip of Houlton; and a loving mother-in-law, Glenna H. Cyr. Philip Dwayne Wyman’s family shared 66 wonderful years with him. He will be missed immensely, not only by his family, but by all with whom he was associated. There will a memorial service 11 a.m. Jan. 21, 2006, at the New Limerick Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Tuttle.
