CARIBOU – Philip G. Ring, 75, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Mass. He was born June 28, 1930, in Wilton, N. H., the son of the late Joseph and Edwinna (Weston) Ring. Philip was raised in Wilton, N.H. and graduated from the High Mowing School. In 1953, he graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Arts in music. Following graduation from college, Philip entered the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as lieutenant colonel in 1973 after serving his country for 20 years. Philip was currently employed as a claims representative at the Social Security Administration in Presque Isle, where he worked for 30 years. He lived 32 years in Caribou and was actively involved in his community. He was a longtime committed member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Caribou, a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Rabbit Breeders Association, a founding member of the Caribou Choral Society, an area advisor for the Key Club and was also active with local Broadway musical productions. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves six children, Jonathan Ring of Exeter, N.H., Jeffrey Ring of Hillsboro, Ore., Kevin Ring of Medford, Mass., Thad Ring of Alexandria, Va., Happy Perry of Fort Bragg, N.C. and Edwinna Parent of Marblehead, Mass. He also leaves his brother, Ellis Ring of Northwood, N.H.; his longtime companion, Anna Livingston of Presque Isle and 11 grandchildren. Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend visiting hours 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm St., Marblehead, Mass. A celebration of Philip’s life will also be held Sunday, June 25, in Caribou at a time to be announced, at the Unitarian Universalist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
