SACO – Philip R. Davis, 77, resident of Shadagee Road Saco, formerly of Kennebunk, and Calais, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Sarah “Sally” (Russell) Davis. Mr. Davis was born Jan. 27, 1927, at his home in Calais, a son of Warren H. and Janie L. (Robinson) Davis. Following his graduation from Calais High School, he served as a Boatswain’s Mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was then employed by the Calais Light and Power Company for 16 years and later a supervisor for Milliken Brothers Electric Supply Co. Mr. Davis moved to Kennebunk in 1963, where he was employed by Kennebunk Light and Power as general manager and later superintendent through the mid 1980s. Mr. Davis was predeceased by his brother, Charles Warren Davis; and a sister, Helen Robertha Marraty. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Sally, of 56 years; four daughters, Janet H. Davis of Canton, Miss., Mrs. Gordon (Joyce) Mailman of Saco, Mrs. Roland (Joy) Eon of Saco, and Jill E. Farley of Biddeford; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday June 21, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A Masonic service by York Lodge will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Lewis Flagg officiating. Interment will be 12 noon on Wednesday, June 23, in Calais Cemetery, South Street, Calais.
