OLD TOWN – Phillip C. Woods and Therese Woods died unexpec-tedly Feb. 23, 2007, and March 18, 2007, respectively. Phil was a graduate of John Bapst High School and attended Saint Emard Seminary, New York. Later, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp., where he served and was wounded in Korea. After returning home, he later joined the U.S. Air Force, from which he was honorably discharged in 1952. Phil owned and operated Jefferson Street Market, Old Town for 19 years, then was employed with Metropolitan Life Insurance, until he retired. Therese was a graduate of Blue Bell High School, New Brunswick, and took great pride in raising her children as her number one job. Phil and Therese enjoyed many years of traveling and loved wintering in Florida. They were married Aug. 9, 1952, at St. Louis Church Air Force Base, Limestone. Phil and Therese were very devoted to each other, the pact they made on their wedding day carried them through life with a smile on their face and love in their hearts. Their tolerance and teaching of love and compassion to family and friends will be forever remembered by those who know and loved Phil and Therese, especially their children. Phil and Therese were married for 54 years and could not be separated in life nor at the time of death. They will be sadly missed and greatly loved by their six children, Ruth Francis of Florida, Donna and David Simon of Bradley, David and Vicki Woods of Holden, Mike and Brenda Woods of Bangor, Steve Woods of Bradley and Linda and Tim Avery of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Phillip, Sean, Brandy, D.J., Jessy, Mike and Jasmine. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Holy Family Parish, Old Town. Burial and reception will be held after the service.
