LEE – Phillip Merletti, 86, husband of Maude H. Merletti, died March 7, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born July 13, 1917, in New Haven, Conn., the son of Ferangelo and Theresa (Cunzo) Merletti. Phillip started as a waterboy for C W Blaisley Construction Company, and was responsible for building roads in New Haven, Conn. He was one of the founding members of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Union in New Haven. In addition to his wife, Maude, he is survived by a son and his wife, Phillip and Lynn Merletti of Lee; two grandchildren, Keith Jimmo and Ella of North Dakota, and Douglas Jimmo and Carrie of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Madison Lynn of Florida, and Meghan and Adam, both of North Dakota; two sisters, Anna Falcigno of Hamden, Conn., and Rita Altomare of New Haven, Conn. He was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Services were held in Connecticut. Local arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
