MILLINOCKET – Robert D. Pinette, 71, died April 10, 2004, at Millinocket. He was born Dec. 12, 1932, in Millinocket, the son of Edmund and Flora (Savage) Pinnette. Robert was a 1950 graduate of Stearns High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by the Great Northern Paper Co., returned to work at the mill after a terrible work-related injury and later retired in 1975. After living in Bangor for several years, Robert moved back to Millinocket. Surviving are five children, Roberta “Bobbie” Allen and her husband, John, of Millinocket, Barbara Swett of Mattawamkeag, Beverly Montgomery of Danbury, Conn., Betty Jo Austin and her husband, Michael, of Millinocket, Roger Pinette and his wife, Chrissy, of Mechanic Falls; grandchildren, Chad Allen and his wife, Rebecca, of Damariscotta, Kristy Allen of Millinocket, Matthew and Sarah Swett and Casey Montgomery, all of Lincoln, Carrie Pomeroy of Portland, Whitney Niclas of Princeton, Angela and Michelle Austin of Millinocket; three great-grandchildren, Travis Hartley of Millinocket, Hunter and Kayleigh Allen of Damariscotta; two sisters, Carolyn Folsom and her husband, Clyde, of Bangor, Judith Pelletier and her husband, Wilmen, of Staceyville; his step mother, Lilla Pinnette of Cocoa, Fla.; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket, at a time to be announced.
